Learn to Swim Level 1-5
The Swimming and Water Safety program helps people of all ages enjoy the water safely and act effectively in an emergency situation. Courses are fun, interactive and lead participants to incorporate swimming and water safely into their lives, whether they make swimming a part of a lifetime fitness plan, or swim and dive competitively. Learning to move through the water with comfort and efficiency is essential in water safety and enjoyment. This program is based on a logical, six-level progression that helps swimmers of all ages and varying abilities develop their swimming and water safety skills.

The DRC offers American Red Cross Progressive Learn to Swim program Level 1 through Level 5. Lessons are offered all year-round and students are encouraged to continue in lessons until they become proficient at each level. Swimming is not just a competitive sport, but also an excellent form of lifelong exercise. There is a parent / student orientation prior to swimming at the first class. Learn to swim starts at ages 5 and older. Parents should register their child for this course in person at the DRC. A birth certificate is required to establish age.
