Kid's School's Out Day & Summer Camps

The DRC offers a variety of camps for kids on days that school is out as well as Recreation Station throughout the summer! Recreation Station and Specialty DRC Kids camps are week long camps offered in the summer while school is out and kids are looking for something fun to keep them busy. Camp DRC and the Oaklawn Afterschool Program are offered when there is no school during the regular school year. 

Camp DRC

During the school year, when school is out, camp is in! Camp DRC takes place at the Hubbard Arts Center from 7:00am-6:00pm. The kids will play games, visit Madison Ave Park (weather permitting), make crafts and swim at the DRC! 

Oaklawn Afterschool Program

The Oaklawn ASP is a licensed drop in program. This program is available to children attending Cooper and Oaklawn Elementary and is held at the Oaklawn Activity Center.

Recreation Station

Recreation Station is a licensed full day 10-week summer camp for school aged kids grades K-5th (based on 2023-24 year). Camp runs from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday From May 28-August 2, 2024. All campers receive a t-shirt and weekly newsletter. Campers will bring their own lunch and drink each day; snacks are provided. Those who register for all 10 weeks receive an individual FREE season pass to Rock River Rapids and are eligible to enroll in RecStation+ classes with art and culinary themes that meet on Fridays from 8:30am-11:30am for an additional fee. Please download the Parent Manual and review. A Camper Information Form AND Health History Form for each child attending must be completed online before child will be allowed to attend Recreation Station. Payment plans are accepted for 10 week enrollments. Registrations with payment plans must be made at the Derby Recreation Center. Registration begins Monday, March 4.

Specialty DRC Kids Summer Camps

The DRC offers other specialty camps outside of the Recreation Station Program including Culinary Camp, Art Creation Camp and Horseback Riding Camp. These camps offer a variety of themes and are available to kids aged 5 through 15. Follow this link to find information about each camp and to register beginning March 4.
